Teaching Statement

I strongly believe that effective learning is being able to explore, experiment, analyze, discuss, and create. My goal is to find specific strengths in my students and help them expand their learning by utilizing their strongest skill sets to elaborate and emphasize dance movements. I push my students to recognize their own identity and values, knowing who they are as unique individuals. I believe learning potential and success cannot be measured with background circumstances. Each individual has their own unique strengths and challenges. I will motivate students to set their individually unique goals.

When teaching, I create an environment with a sense of community to expand social connections. I insist students to utilize the tools of creative movements in dance to build relationships with peers, as well as a broader connection to society.
